Q. What are the beliefs of First Baptist Church of Cedar Hill?

A. Our beliefs are probably best described within the Baptist Faith and Message.

Q. What should I expect on my first visit?

A. Visiting a church can be intimidating, but at First Baptist Church of Cedar HIll we make it a priority to make you feel welcome, comfortable, and loved. When you pull in, look for the visitor parking. At the front door you will be met by ushers who will answer any questions you might have. Come and join us!

Q. How should I dress?

A. The average dress at Cedar Hill is business casual. However, you are encouraged to come as you are.

Q. What kind of music/message should I expect?

A. The worship music at Cedar HIll is a balance of traditional and contemporary songs, played in a style familiar to our city. The messages from week to week are real, practical, relevant and informative.

Q. Where will my children attend during Sunday School and the Worship Service?

A. Each age group has a Sunday School class suited for their developmental stage and needs. Our ushers or workers would be glad to direct you to where they will attend. During the worship service, our PreSchool Department continues to take care of those under Kindergarten age. For children from Kindergarten through 6th Grade, children meet in the Children's Church room during the worship services. Youth (Grades 7 - 12) attend the worship service in the sanctuary with the adults.

Q. How do I become a member?

A. First Baptist Church of Cedar Hill has a time of invitation following each worship service. This time is provided for anyone wishing to make a profession of faith and/or commitment to the Lord Jesus and to the Lord's work at the church. During the invitational song, you may walk to the front of the worship center where the Pastor and his assistant(s) will assist you in becoming a member of our church. Following, is an explanation of the ways in which you may join First Baptist Church of Cedar Hill:

PROFESSION OF FAITH (Baptism): If you receive Christ as your personal Savior and Lord (See: Salvation: How do I Find a Relationship with God? ) and follow Him in Baptism by immersion.

MEMBERSHIP TRANSFER: As a baptized believer whose church membership is elsewhere, at a like faith and practice church, we welcome you into our fellowhip. We will send to your former church, for your church letter or membership.

STATEMENT: By statement from another denomination. This is a statement of Faith in Jesus Christ, and that you have been baptized by immersion. If you are moving your letter or membership from another denomination (non-baptist) or have not been baptized by immersion, we require that you be baptized by immersion for membership into our fellowship.
